One of the greatest comedies to ever grace television is a little show called Arrested Development. The show was critically acclaimed and just downright amazing, but wasn’t watched by nearly as many people as it deserved. Fox did a poor job promoting the show and eventually moved it to Friday nights, which is like sending a show out to be shot (which it was). Thanks to things like DVDs and Netflix Instant, along with a strong and vocal cult following, a great number of people have become fans since.
The word-of-mouth promotion of Arrested Development has caused an interesting phenomenon that I’ve recently noticed: a lot of people feel a need to tell you about their favorite show. I can’t tell the cause, though like any highly opinionated person I have an idea… These people are subconsciously jealous that they didn’t find Arrested Development. Like they are trying to make up for it by finding the next AD (Arrested Development). The problem is, those are some big shoes to fill.
What I’m trying to say is: Stop telling me to watch Dexter!
