Better Safe Than Sorry?

In all the years I lived in Boston and commuted to Government Center, an area next to city hall, an FBI building, and multiple tourist attractions, I was randomly stopped once by police so they could check my backpack for bomb-making residue. I’m not saying they should have checked me (or anyone else) more often but even as a casual observer, these random searches didn’t seem like a great deterrent for would-be bombers.

Go home, 2015, you’re drunk.

Goodbye 2015! It was a big year for this blog. Before a little vacation in December, I was able to get up a post every five days since the middle of July. This year, I plan on continuing that trend. As the great Kang once said, “As a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball; but tonight I say, we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!”

Half-Birthdays

Today is my half-birthday (and it’s not to late to buy me 50% of a gift on Groupon). Half-birthdays are, of course, 6-months away from someone’s real birthday. They’ve always fascinated me (so much so that I had to search my old posts to make sure I haven’t talked about them extensively yet)…
